The ol’ spec’y

Found in the new subdivision, Haultain Estate, in Kihikihi.

Finally with a bit of traction we have been able to complete our first spec home. However, in true Top Shelf style, it wasn’t built by penny pinching and a quick flick mind.

Instead we decided to stick to what we know.
Quality, one–off homes.

Its a bit…woody

As a builder, I love timber. Largely because its not perfect. This tight knot redwood really stands out in a new subdivision of modern black and white homes. Its warm look is full of character and depth which is breath of fresh air in an over populated James Hardie market.

We picked up a client part way through this build and let them take control of colour and selections inside.

Fortunately, like us, they are a bit different and bold with their choices!
Together with Mandy from Guthrie Bowron TA they put together a real one of kind finish to what is a simple 150m2 home. Got It Made from Te Awamutu did an amazing job coming up with this little kitchen design. Hiding the range hood with the float timber shelf really makes for a great feature at the center of this home.

Once again, no short cuts here.

All the stops for this “simple spec”. Full tiled shower in bathroom and en-suite, free standing bath, separate WC gives this 3 beddy a high spec feel.

If your “knot” impressed, buy off the plans.

Almost done and dusted.
